2016 was a key point in the development of the drive shaft company: the company moved from Xuanwu District to Jiangning District, the product structure was upgraded synchronously, and a brand new production line of solid shafts was officially landed. It was this year that Yuan Dawei walked into the factory from the campus and became the first batch of skill orientation training employees. In order to master the core technology of solid shaft production as soon as possible, he followed the master in the production line squatting, record every parameter debugging details, just one month, he can not only independently complete the whole process of solid shaft processing operation, and their own experience and tips. Later on, he also became a small master for new employees, realizing the transfer of skills.
In the following years, with the deep cooperation of the core customer Natixis, the output of solid shafts surged, hollow shafts type and output were improved, and the company pushed forward the automation transformation in accordance with the trend. Facing the brand-new automatic line equipment, he defied difficulties, studied with an open mind, practiced for a long time, and finally mastered the operation and maintenance of the two main production lines of hollow shafts and solid shafts. 2020, because of his outstanding technical ability and always on-line sense of responsibility, he joined the Communist Party of China gloriously, and bound his personal growth with the belief of the enterprise's development firmly.
In July 2024, the Drive Shaft Company set up a logistics department, and David Yuan once again seized the new opportunity of enterprise development and took the initiative to join as a junior member. Shifting from a front-line operator to a logistics management position was a brand new challenge for him. The first time to accept the weekly plan of Tiefu, he took the customer demand table and made a mistake: how to connect the rhythm of production scheduling with logistics and distribution? How to pull the demand for raw materials? How much inventory is needed for early warning? In order to familiarize himself with the work as soon as possible, he studied the ERP system operation every day, went to the warehouse to check the type of materials, the packaging specifications of each product, transportation requirements in their own books, and gradually improve in practice. Once the real axis of the temporary adjustment of the order quantity, in order to ensure timely delivery, he coordinated with the production workshop to adjust the scheduling, and even his own back to his old job, in the case of insufficient staff in the workshop, and then go to the production line after the shift to the production line to the middle of the night before going home. The next day and the first time to contact the logistics company in time to pick up the goods, and finally delivered the materials on time to the customer's factory. In just half a year, he has grown from a logistics “novice” to a core specialist who can independently dock with customers and schedule internal production, contributing to the smooth operation of the enterprise supply chain with the dual experience of “production + logistics”.
In 2025, Drive Shaft Company started a new track and put into the production line of steering intermediate shaft. Facing the triple challenge of “new materials, new production line and zero experience”, Yuan Dawei once again rushed to the front. On the day the new materials arrived, he took the warehouse manager to open the boxes one by one to check and plan the material area of the warehouse, adjusted the placement according to the frequency of use of the materials, and also made signboards to ensure that the feeding workers can quickly find the materials they need. The feeding area of the production line was also categorized and standardized to avoid the production line stoppage due to misuse of materials.
Along with the transformation and upgrading of the drive shaft company and market development, the story of strugglers like Yuan Dawei is emerging, writing a new chapter every day.
